Intuition Is Your Strongest Asset

Intuition Is Your Strongest Asset

You Already Know. You’re Just Not Listening.

Have you ever met someone and immediately felt something was… off?

Maybe they were kind. Maybe they said all the right things. Maybe everyone around you loved them. But somewhere deep down, there was this tiny little voice saying, “I don’t know about this.”

And then months later, something happens and you think:

"I knew it. I knew something felt wrong from the beginning."

That feeling? That quiet knowing?

That’s your intuition.

The problem is, most of us have learned to ignore it.

We’re taught to trust what we can prove. What we can explain. What we can back up with facts. So when our intuition speaks up, we dismiss it because we don’t have a neat little list of reasons why we feel the way we do.

But your intuition doesn’t always come with evidence.

Sometimes it just comes with a feeling.

And honestly? Some of the biggest lessons in my own life have come from the moments where I ignored that feeling and later realized I already knew the truth.

Your Intuition Isn’t Random

A lot of people think intuition is this mysterious, magical thing that only certain people have.

But intuition is something we all have.

Your brain is constantly collecting information — facial expressions, body language, tone of voice, patterns, little details you may not consciously notice. Sometimes your mind connects those dots before you even realize it.

That sudden feeling of:

"Something isn't right."

or

"This feels like the right path."

is your mind and body communicating with you.

It’s your internal guidance system.

The issue is that many of us have been trained not to trust it.

Why We Stop Trusting Ourselves

Think about how many times you were told:

“Don’t be so sensitive.”

“You’re overthinking.”

“Give them another chance.”

“You need a better reason than just a feeling.”

From a young age, many of us learn to put other people’s opinions above our own inner voice.

We learn to ignore discomfort so we don’t upset anyone.

We learn to stay quiet when something doesn’t feel right.

We learn to look outside ourselves for answers we already have inside.

And eventually, we become so disconnected from our own intuition that we don’t even recognize it anymore.

We ask everyone else what they think before asking ourselves what we feel.

What Intuition Actually Feels Like

Intuition isn’t always dramatic.

It’s usually subtle.

It might look like:

A feeling of ease or resistance.
Something feels natural and aligned… or you feel like you’re forcing something that isn’t meant for you.

A physical reaction.
A tight chest. A heavy feeling in your stomach. Goosebumps. A sudden burst of excitement or energy.

A quiet knowing.
You can’t explain it logically, but something inside you just says, “This is it.”

A feeling that something is off.
Everything looks good on paper, but something still doesn’t sit right.

Your intuition usually speaks before your mind starts analyzing.

Then your brain jumps in:

“But what if I’m wrong?”

“What if I’m being unfair?”

“What will people think?”

That’s usually when we start talking ourselves out of what we already felt.

How to Start Trusting Yourself Again

If you want to reconnect with your intuition, start small.

1. Practice With Simple Decisions

Don’t start with the biggest decisions of your life.

Start with small things.

Ask yourself:

“What do I actually feel like eating?”

“Which task should I do first?”

“Do I really want to go to this event?”

Notice the answer that comes before you start overthinking.

You’re rebuilding trust with yourself.

2. Pay Attention to Your Body

Your body often notices things before your mind catches up.

Before making a decision, pause for a moment.

Ask yourself:

“Does this feel like a yes or a no?”

Notice what happens.

Do you feel lighter?

More open?

Calm?

Or do you feel tense, heavy, or drained?

Your body is always giving you information.

3. Stop Looking for Permission

Sometimes we ask everyone else for advice because we truly need another perspective.

But sometimes we already know the answer.

We’re just hoping someone else will make the decision easier for us.

Before asking everyone around you what they think, ask yourself first.

What do you feel?

What do you know?

4. Keep Track of Your Intuitive Hits

Start paying attention to the moments you were right.

The time you had a feeling about someone.

The time you knew something wasn’t the right choice.

The time you ignored yourself and wished you hadn’t.

Your intuition has a history.

Start noticing it.

The More You Listen, The Stronger It Becomes

Trusting your intuition is like strengthening any other skill.

The more you practice, the easier it becomes to recognize.

You start noticing patterns.

You become more aware of your own energy.

You become more confident in your choices.

Some people call this psychic ability.

Some people call it emotional intelligence.

Some people call it simply being connected to yourself.

Whatever you call it, the important thing is that you stop ignoring it.

Your Intuition Has Been Trying To Help You

You don’t need to become someone else to be intuitive.

You don’t need to have a special gift.

You already have an inner voice that has been communicating with you your entire life.

The question is:

Are you listening?

The next time you get that feeling, don’t immediately dismiss it.

Pause.

Ask yourself why.

Pay attention.

Because that quiet little voice inside you?

It may know more than you think.
